Málaga is the perfect place to begin the journey, it is a city that has a unique heartbeat of its own, perfectly blending modernity with history. Famous for being the birthplace of Picasso, it’s full of culture and energy. We started by exploring Gibralfaro Castle, with its breathtaking views of the city and coastline, before walking down the winding path to the Alcazaba, Málaga’s impressive Moorish fortress. Afterward, we enjoyed a stroll along Muelle Uno, the modern harbour promenade, with its trendy shops and restaurants. To wrap up the day we headed to the traditional fishing district of El Palo for some of the freshest fish in town. Don´t forget to visit El Pimpi, one of Antonio Banderas´s favourite restaurants an enjoy the creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted in “Mira ice creams” along Calle Larios.

We couldn’t visit Andalucía without stopping in Tarifa, the southernmost point of continental Europe, where the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea meet. Tarifa is famous for its strong winds, “Poniente or Levante” making it a world-renowned destination for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The town is blessed with many unspoiled beaches with the typical fine golden sand of the Ocean. Punta Paloma, Valdevaqueros and Bolonia to name a few. The town’s lively energy is enhanced by its great nightlife, attracting tourists and surfers from all over the world. It is also the departure point for ferries to Tangier, Morocco, just 13 miles across the Strait of Gibraltar. You will find yourself falling in love with Tarifa and it will leave an imprint on your soul and you will be planning your next trip back as soon as you can.

The real highlight of our time in Tarifa was whale watching in the Strait of Gibraltar, where we spotted pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. The Strait is steeped in myth. According to Greek mythology, the actual Straight was marking the edge of the known world in ancient times as no one was able to sail out of it. Then Hercules, placed t 2 pillars the known Pillars of Hercules, with one pillar in Mons Calpe in Gibraltar and the other believed to be in Jebel Musa in Morocco, marking the edge of the known world in ancient times. Have you ever seen the flag of Andalucia? You can clear see the two Pillars and Hercules with him and 2 Lions when you do.

Next, we hit the coastal town of Conil de la Frontera. Known for its endless sandy beaches and cool surf scene. This town is a hotspot for anyone who feels at peace next to the ocean. Conil is also home to the stunning Calas de Conil, small hidden coves where you can escape the crowds and enjoy pristine waters and relax in peace. Nearby, El Palmar beach offers wide-open spaces for surfing, and it’s the perfect spot to catch one of the most amazing sunsets The sun slowly disappears in the ocean, leaving the horizon with those magical orange-pink tones in southern Spain. The town’s laid-back bars make it easy to savour southern Spain’s easy-going lifestyle.

A short drive from Conil led us to Vejer de la Frontera, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain and one of the renowned Pueblos Blancos of Cádiz (white towns of Cádiz). Perched on top of a hill, Vejer offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The town is a maze of narrow streets, flower-filled patios, and historic fortifications. Its laid-back charm makes it the perfect place to relax with a glass of tinto de Verano and some tapas in its picturesque Plaza de España.

Very close to Conil and Vejer de la Frontera is Los Caños de Meca, a place that feels wild and unspoiled. Here, towering cliffs drop dramatically into the Atlantic, and the beaches are a mix of golden sands and hidden coves. The streets of Los Caños are often **covered in sand**, blown in by the strong winds that shape the area. The waves here are perfect for surfers, but the relaxed vibe makes it equally appealing for sunbathers and those looking for a peaceful escape. Don’t miss the breathtaking sunsets, where the sky glows over the ocean, casting a magical light over the landscape.

After the beachy vibes, we headed inland to the extraordinary village of Setenil de las Bodegas. The According to The Times, Setenil de las Bodegas has been elected as the most beautiful town of Cadiz, for its bizarre beauty, this unique town is famous for its peculiara houses houses built directly into and under the rock, with many homes designed like caves or having the rock itself as a roof. The village is built on the river bank of Guadalporcún river and instead of excavating the rock, they decided to use it as a wall or roof. I really recommend to walk through Wal Calle Cuevas del Sol in Setenil . It’s an incredible place to explore and offers some **spectacular photo opportunities**.

Cádiz: A City like no other

Our road trip ended in Cádiz, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe. Shaped like a spoon, Cádiz would have been an island if not for the long narrow beach that connects it San Fernando, the mainland. Cádiz has a rich maritime history, evident in its grand plazas and seafront promenades. Be sure to visit the Cámara Oscura, an intriguing periscope that provides a 360-degree view of the city. Cádiz is famous for its 150 observation towers, which were once used to monitor ships approaching the port. Take a stroll through the town, visit the Genovese Parc with its lollipop shape plants, continue your walk into what is considered the part of the spoon inside the soup and discover the enormous magnolia trees, brought from Peru and then end up at the Caleta beach. Depending on the time of the day you will see boats floating or boats standing on the sand thanks to the sea tide. If you continue, you arrive at the impressive Cathedral. Cadiz offers wonderful spots for photographs, also by night. The city offers very long beaches where you can spend your whole day and also enjoy a drink at night. Its beauty and unique architecture have made it a popular filming location for movies and series, such as the recent Netflix show KAOS. One more thing: You must try the sea food! Either in its famous “ freidurías” or any other restaurant. It is delicious!
